Congrats on your first Smallie. Are you headed to the Mid-South... west TN, AR, north MS, or north AL?

ReplyDeleteLove your blog! What weight rod are using to catch those gills?
ReplyDelete@ Neal: Thank you! I am using a a very fast 6 wt. I use it for distance, jigging, beating the wind and throwing sinking and floating lines. It is light enough that a big bluegill is still alot of fun, but it has enough backbone to play a bass. I fish places where I can catch a half dozen species in a day and I find a 6 wt to be the most versatile. I hate carrying alot of stuff aroudn when I fish, so I usually have just the one rod. I also have a clouser 8 wt with an intermediate sink line, that serves as my big bass/ deep water rod.
