The Mrs. and I had a good weekend out at Coon Creek for the Texas Historical Foundation Quarterly board meeting.
We caught a bunch of nice gills, ate good and had a fun time with friends.
A chunky "Bull Gill"
One in hand better than two in the slough.....
being creatures of habit we also stopped by the Athens freshwater Fisheries center and caught a a couple dozen trout!
and this fiesty little thing
We also managed to hop out to Lake Hawkins and Daingerfield but had ZERO luck at either. The Pickerel remains illusive.....
Warmer weather is in the works?

ReplyDeleteNice lookin' site. I too can't get enough of bluegills on the fly. The grass is always greener I guess. I drive past trophy trout waters five miles from my house to chase bluegill in the next state over. Check out my latest post.
