Broke in the 3wt

I went to Mckinny and broke in the new TFO Pro-series 3wt. 7'6" of bass slayin' badassarie!

It was my first time using the popper dropper rig I learned from Don at breambugs.com. Popper was a yellow foam spider, the droppper one of breambugs electric blue north fork nymphs.

Upside Down Craw Dad

Recently my good friends at Breambugs.com sent me some samples of a new fly, the Upside Down Bream Killer. Its a great fly that rides hook up for those tight spots, looks natural, and comes in a few color combinations; olive, black & red and chartreuse. I had luck using the UDBK this fall in some heavily fished water and so my fly box now has a good supply of them. I suggested to Don that he needed to make one in a rust coloration, something that resembled a small crayfish:

It won't be long now...

“No man is really happy or safe without a hobby, and it makes precious little difference what the outside interest may be.....anything will do, so long as he straddles a hobby and rides it hard.”
--SIR WILLIAM OSLER--

We wait with baited breath for spring here in North Texas. I need to shake off the cobwebs, put away the video games and hit the water.

Hopefully fishy pictures will adorn my blog before too long?
